The author examines the modus vivendi of the Christian population in Turkey through the public theologies concept in an attempt to demonstrate the ways that religious minorities in Turkey are not viewed as an integral part of society. As such, the idea of citizenship is undermined by the religious undertones in dealing with minorities in Turkey, further deteriorating societal relations. Emphasis is placed on the Christian minorities in order to demonstrate this discrepancy for non-Muslims in Turkey.
