The aim of this paper is to present the state of the Greek-Orthodox minority in Turkey throughout the AKP years. Their relationship with the state is juxtaposed with that of the previous Ottoman millet system and contrasted with their modus vivendi during the early decades of Republican Turkey. The focus of the paper is attributed to the current relations of the Greek-Orthodox with the AKP governments and domestic priorities and their status as a religious minority within Turkey. As such, emphasis is placed on their religious rights and their religious patrimoine.
