This article’s objective is to present a theoretical framework for the study of the Muslim and Christian relationship in modern day Egypt. Through the use of an important number of case studies and interviews with Coptic citizens, the article aims to underline and bring to light the problems which the Coptic community have to face within Egyptian society and domestic politics, showcasing, at the same time, aspects of violence and non-violence in addition to the factors which work as an emotional societal trigger.
