One of the most essential concerns of the Vatican City is Lebanon, given the central role of the Maronite Church in the country. Thus, the begining of the Lebanese civil war in 1975 became a top issue of the bilateral relations between the United States and the Holy See. This chapter analyises the consultations between the two, during the first years of the Lebanese crisis.
