Rabah examines the War of the Mountains in Lebanon between 1982 and 1984 that was waged between the founding fathers of the country; namely the Druze and the Maronite communities. Unlike much of the scholarship of the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990), the author has conducted extensive interviews of nonorthodox sources from all the Lebanese communities so as to trace the repercussions of the collective memory and oral history of the events on Mount Lebanon beyond the two communities.
