This article attempts to substantiate the necessity of a new intra-disciplinary subfield that engages with Christianity in the Middle east. McCallum navigates around the rich scholarship that has subconsciously attempted to generate a new subfield of Christianity in the Middle East and provides indirectly a literature review that unites religion, politics and area studies.
