The article examines the emigration of Christians from the Middle East, attempting to trace the reasons of this alarming phenomenon and explore the meaning of the Diaspora's Eastern Christian identity. The author focuses on the principal reasons that are political and not religious and the recurring motives, while describing their national and ethnic identity characteristics and the relations with the home countries, giving a general picture of the Diaspora’s challenges and difficulties.
