The author examines the relations of the Pope with the White House, focusing among others, on the disagreement over the 2003 war in Iraq. Starting from the George W. Bush period and continuing in the Obama presidency, the article describes how the situation between the two sides evolved in issues such the breach in Christian–Muslim relations in the Middle East and the dwindling number of Christians in the region during this decade.
